The Lunch Club is currently suspended, but we’d love to hear from any volunteer who would like to run this monthly event.

We are a friendly, informal group of around a dozen men and women, all with an interest in writing – whether short stories, poems or novels. Some of us have been published in print, some publish their own work as e-books, others write purely for their own interest and satisfaction.

We meet on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, at the Memorial Hall (Village Hall), right in the middle of Stedham village which is just over a mile from Midhurst. New faces are always welcome, so please do drop in and say hello; if you would like to tell us you’re coming, just call our Chairman Bob Berry on 01730 814005 and he will be watching out for you.

So what happens during our meetings? Well, some of us bring pieces of our own work to read to the group, while others just listen to the readings, or maybe discuss their future ideas. Occasionally, when time allows, we may be given a Workshop challenge – writing a few words (usually lighthearted) within a few minutes, on a given subject chosen by our Chairman.

If you are an aspiring writer and would like to meet with others who can give support and encouragement, this is the place to come!

For more information about our members and programme, see: https://midhurst-writers-group.webs.com/

Stedham with Iping Parish Council (SIPC) was formed from the remaining parts of what had been the two separate parishes of Stedham and Iping after boundary changes in 1972 and held its first meeting on  20th November of the same year

A parish council is a civil local authority found in England and is the lowest tier of local government. It is an elected corporate body, has some tax raising powers, and is responsible for the civil parish, in this case, Stedham with Iping. It is composed of a Chair and Councillors, the number of Councillors is fixed by the District, in this case Chichester.

Stedham with Iping Parish Council should have 9 Councillors representing the Parish but is currently down to 5 so, if anyone is interested in joining the Parish Council please let the Clerk of the council know at .

A list of the current Councillors together with a brief history of the Parish and Council and details of the Council activities and meetings can be found on its website Stedham with Iping Parish Council.

The Council holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month. Normally these would be held in the Stedham Memorial Hall starting at 7:00pm, but in the current circumstances’ meetings are being held on-line via a video conferencing tool.

Please come – everyone is most welcome to attend. Just email the Clerk at the above address for joining instructions.
