Our Weekly Activities & Regular Hall Users

Stedham Village Hall is proud to support a wide range of regular users who bring the space to life throughout the week. From fitness and wellbeing classes to social clubs, community groups, and educational activities, these groups play a vital role in making the hall a welcoming and active hub for local residents. This page highlights the organisations and clubs that regularly use the hall, offering something for all ages and interests within our community.

Midhurst Quilters is a small friendly group of quilters and sewers who enjoy getting together to learn from each other. Our members do all kinds of sewing projects. Many of us make quilts for the Linus project which gives comfort to youngsters who have experienced some form of trauma. New members are always welcome.

When: Second Monday of every month  from 9.30am until 12 o’clock.

Contact: Telephone Margaret on 01730 813041 or email

We are a friendly, informal group of around a dozen men and women, all with an interest in writing – whether short stories, poems or novels. Some of us have been published in print, some publish their own work as e-books, others write purely for their own interest and satisfaction.

We meet on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, at the Memorial Hall (Village Hall), right in the middle of Stedham village which is just over a mile from Midhurst. New faces are always welcome, so please do drop in and say hello; if you would like to tell us you’re coming, just call our Chairman Bob Berry on 01730 814005 and he will be watching out for you.

So what happens during our meetings? Well, some of us bring pieces of our own work to read to the group, while others just listen to the readings, or maybe discuss their future ideas. Occasionally, when time allows, we may be given a Workshop challenge – writing a few words (usually lighthearted) within a few minutes, on a given subject chosen by our Chairman.

If you are an aspiring writer and would like to meet with others who can give support and encouragement, this is the place to come!

Stedham with Iping Parish Council (SIPC) was formed from the remaining parts of what had been the two separate parishes of Stedham and Iping after boundary changes in 1972 and held its first meeting on  20th November of the same year

A parish council is a civil local authority found in England and is the lowest tier of local government. It is an elected corporate body, has some tax raising powers, and is responsible for the civil parish, in this case, Stedham with Iping. It is composed of a Chair and Councillors, the number of Councillors is fixed by the District, in this case Chichester.

Stedham with Iping Parish Council should have 9 Councillors representing the Parish but is currently down to 5 so, if anyone is interested in joining the Parish Council please let the Clerk of the council know at .

A list of the current Councillors together with a brief history of the Parish and Council and details of the Council activities and meetings can be found on its website Stedham with Iping Parish Council.

The Council holds meetings on the second Thursday of each month. Normally these would be held in the Stedham Memorial Hall starting at 7:00pm, but in the current circumstances’ meetings are being held on-line via a video conferencing tool.

Please come – everyone is most welcome to attend. Just email the Clerk at the above address for joining instructions.

Stedham Women’s institute is a group of friendly and fun loving individuals who meet in the Stedham Village Hall on the third Thursday of every month. Knit and Natter, Walking Club and Supper Club also meet on other weeks throughout the month so there are plenty of opportunities to spend time together. Members can also attend the theatre season at Chichester Festival Theatre, taking advantage of their block booking offers.

Classes are held at the Hall on Mondays at 3.30pm in 5 week terms. Offering a blend of Chair Yoga with Standing Positions, the classes are aimed at improving mobility and flexibility, but also offer a short period of mindfulness away from the demands of our hectic lives.

We are lucky to have Angela Thompson as our class leader who is fun, experienced, and understanding when we start to wobble on one foot. All booking is done through her website (see above), with discounted rates for booking in blocks of 5 classes at £10 per hour / session.
